Match A: Blyth led from the whistle and kept a close eye on Vicky who gave her a big gap before unloading and easily overtaking her opponent. First blood Pendleton.
Match B: Pendleton took up the front position, neck craned giving Blyth plenty of respect. Blyth went high and dropped back then ducked underneath. However, no amount of tactics could match the sheer speed of Pendleton who took the match and the National Title.

Men's 20km Scratch Race
20080917_06_Track_Champs_D2_Report
Chris Newton won the National Scratch title after destroying the field in two devastating injections of pace. Newton spent much of the race a lap ahead with only Brook's Cycles rider Andrew Magnier able to initially match his pace. Eventually Magnier couldn't stay with Newton, who lapped the entire field then sat in the group with the remaining riders. Magnier kept his lap advantage to take Silver so it remained for the final 3 riders to fight for bronze, which was eventually taken by Jon Mould.
