Memo

Na 42km konden 9 renners wegspringen uit het peleton : Rogers, Davis, Auger, Augé, Le Mevel, Turpin, Bertolini, Secchiari en Joseba Zubeldia. Tijdens het plaatselijke circuit in Le Mans reden uit die groep Rogers en Auger weg. De anderen moesten passen, maar vanuit het peleton sprong Brochard naar de leiders, hij werd gevolgd door Allan Davis. Wat verder gingen deze twee alleen door, Davis won de sprint. Het peleton, met daarin eindwinnaar Da Cruz, eindigde op vrij korte afstand.
