De laatste etappe stond in het teken van een lange vlucht van acht renners : Rinaldo Nocentini, Cristian Gasperoni, Luca Mazzanti, Michele Gobbi, Serhey Honchar, Giuliano Figueras, Marzio Bruseghin en Hernan Dario Munoz. De acht bleven ook in de slotfase samen, in de sprint was Michele Gobbi de snelste. Gilberto Simoni eindigde vooraan het peleton en had dus geen problemen om z'n eindzege veilig te stellen.
