Chicchi has imposed himself in Spain

After the success in the Tirreno – Adriatico and in the Settimana Internazionale of Coppi and Bartali, Francesco Chicchi win again: his personal score in this season, so, arrive at four. The sprinter has won on the group in the stage started from El Vendrell and arrived to Pallejà of 164 kilometres.
In the beginning of race, also another Liquigas cyclist was protagonist, Manuel Quinziato, that after 33 kilometres took part of a spurt with other four athletes. «The objective – has affirmed the DS Paolo Slongo – was win the intermediate finish line to ensure the jersey of this special ranking». In the last kilometres the group has absorbed the fugitives, so was the turn of Chicchi to play his chances in the final sprint: he was clever to exploit the “train” of Credit Agricole and precede the Colombian Duque and the Swiss Zberg.
