San Dimas Stage Race (F)

Teutenberg wins in San Dimas

Columbia-Highroad’s Ina-Yoko Teutenberg took her third victory for the season on Saturday winning stage two of San Dimas out of a 13 person break.

On lap two of an undulating 11km circuit, an attack at the mountain sprint formed a break that stayed away for the remainder of the race.  Columbia-Highroad had three in the break including Teutenberg, Kim Anderson and Alex Wrubleski.

"On the third lap Mara [Abbott] was able to bridge across," said Teutenberg, "so then we started working the break really hard."

"The race was a lot harder that I expected," she added. "the course is  up and down all day with no recovery and we worked really hard in the break. By the 9th lap the hill just before the finish was getting really painful.  It was a good day."

Teutenberg won the sprint to take the victory, her teammate Wrubleski now holds the lead in the mountains competition and Abbott remains in the overall lead going into the final day of racing on Sunday.
