Fabian Wegmann will look to repeat his previous year's win of the GP Miguel Indurain (April 4/UCI Category 1.HC) this Saturday.  The allrounder will be supported on the 190 kilometers through the northern Spanish region of Navarra by the same teammates who will ride the Vuelta a Pais Vasco the next week (April 6-11).   At the start in Estella (which is also ultimately the finish) will be, in addition to German Champion Wegmann, MILRAM captain Linus Gerdemann, Christian Knees, Johannes Fröhlinger, Ronny Scholz, Björn Schröder and Slovakian Peter Velits.

„I am doing very well right now and will attack on Saturday,“ said Fabian Wegmann.  „The GP Indurain has a good finale, it is really steep in the last km and that is good for me.  We will be there with a strong team with which we can accomplish something.“

Fabian Wegmann won the race last year, wearing the Gerolsteiner trikot, in an uphill sprint ahead of Swiss rider Michael Albasini and Spanish Champion Joaquin Rodriguex.  It wasn't the first success there for the 29-year-old German, who also won the race in 2006.

The race has been carried out since 1951, but has carried the name of Miguel Indurain only since 1999.  The five-time Tour de France winner comes from the Navarre region and won the race in 1987.  In addition to Fabian Wegmann, another German has twice won the race, Matthias Kessler in 2003 and 2004.

The Milram line-up: Johannes Fröhlinger (GER/Freiburg im Breisgau), Linus Gerdemann (GER/Kreuzlingen,SUI), Christian Knees (GER/Euskirchen), Ronny Scholz (GER/Herrenberg), Björn Schröder (GER/Berlin), Peter Velits (SVK/Riemst,BEL), Fabian Wegmann (GER/Freiburg im Breisgau)
