Young fans invade Varese 2008

They've become an integral part of everything at the Worlds: they starred in the opening ceremony, and then packed the terraces yesterday. Vareses children have excitedly rushed to answer the World Championships call, showing of the best side of cycling and sport in general. Yesterday attendance figures were really impressive, and everyones enthousiasm was clear to see on the finish line: the Ganna grandstand was a riot of colour, cheering, singing and laughter. Thanks to the shuttle bus service provided by the Organising Committee, hundreds of school children from the province of Varese were transported from the classroom directly to the beating heart of the Cycling Stadium to cheer on the champions and enjoy the magnificent show. And if a cyclist wearing Italys colours makes it to the top of the podium, like Adriano Malori did yesterday, then there is no stopping the party.
